How does the Seats-Based pricing model work?

HubSpot has now released a new pricing model to offer flexible subscription options that allow businesses to scale as they grow.
The new update gives HubSpot users better control over their overall costs and operating expenses. The seat-based pricing model helps organizations get started - and grow - with HubSpot more easily.

With this change, the minimum number of seats for Sales Hub and Service Hub is eliminated. The pricing model is based on different seat types. Each of these seats offers specific functions that meet the different requirements of users.

Companies can take out individual subscriptions according to their product wishes and seat requirements.

Important:

This new pricing only applies to net new customers for the time being, until further notice.
Existing customers are not affected and will remain on their current pricing model.

The benefits of the Core Seat

The Core Seat license gives the user editing access in HubSpot to all purchased products in their subscription, including the
products in their subscription, including the Smart CRM.

(Except for specific functions that require a Sales or Service Seat).

Some example actions that require a Core Seat:

  • Editing data or records
  • Creating and sending marketing emails
  • Creating a website, landing page or campaign
  • Creating a workflow
  • Creating a report
  • Linking emails
  • Creating a ticket pipeline

The services of the Sales Seat

The Sales Seat license is intended for salespeople who have 1:1 contact with prospects and customers.

It offers the same access as a Core Seat, plus access to additional features that salespeople need such as playbooks, sequences, calls, sales automation, automation and call intelligence.

Some example actions that require a Sales Seat:

  • Participate in lead rotation
  • Making calls
  • Sending emails for acquisition
  • Creating or using guides (playbooks)
  • Setting up and managing forecasts

The services of the Service Seat

A Service Seat license is intended for service teams who are in 1:1 contact with prospects and customers.

It provides the same access as a Core Seat plus access to additional features that service agents need, such as playbooks, calls, service automation and knowledge base.

Some example actions that require a service seat:

  • Managing tickets and call routing
  • Making calls
  • Creating and sending customer surveys
  • Setting up and managing forecasts

The services of the View-Only Seat

The View-Only Seat license is intended for all users who only need read-only access to their HubSpot account.

Each paid subscription to HubSpot includes unlimited free View-Only Seats. These seats are well suited for executives who do not work with the product on a daily basis but would like to view reports, records and data.

Examples of actions that a View-Only Seat can perform:

  • View reports and dashboards
  • Save dashboard views
  • Display KPIs
  • Display campaigns
  • Show lists

Properties of the Partner Seat

A Partner Seat is a free license (seat) available to eligible partner employees who work at HubSpot partner and vendor organizations and need editing access to manage their customer accounts.

HubSpot's pricing page now offers a pricing calculator that allows you to calculate your individual price depending on which seats you need.

Here's how it works:

  1. Select the products you want to buy
  2. Select how many core seats you need
  3. Choose how many Sales Seats and Service Seats you need
